Loews Ventana Canyon Review

June 8, 2017

Our first night in Tucson was spent at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.  I would say this is one of the best resorts I have stayed in because of the value you get!  The setting is amazing with the Catalina mountains directly behind the resort and a view of Tucson in the front.  You can either valet your car or park it yourself which are both included in the resort fee, unlike most other resorts.  Our room was perfect for us with 2 queen beds and a lot of extra room to set up the pack and play.  The kids enjoyed jumping on the beds and hanging out on the balcony.

We quickly changed into our swimsuits and headed to the pool.  The main pool is large with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas.  My kids, however, were drawn to the hot tub and cool pool.  The cool pool has a waterfall that feeds it and the kids jumped back and forth between the two.

Also at the pool is a ping pong table, a desert tortoise habitat, and a something that this fair skinned redhead really appreciated, a giant bottle of sunscreen! This was such a nice, touch I’ve never seen that at other resorts.

The next morning, we decided to take a hike around the resort grounds.  We followed a trail that took us to a waterfall cascading down the mountain.  You can check out the live video I did from the waterfall here.  After enjoying this peaceful setting for a bit, we followed the trail to the butterfly garden and tried our best to hold still to see if a butterfly would land on us.  They came close, but never landed on us.  While exploring the resort, we also discovered a little-visited place.  If you go to the fourth floor, you can access a lookout tower where you can get a 360-degree view of the resort and surrounding area.  It was pretty awesome and the kids thought we were in a castle tower.

We headed back to the pool to spend our remaining time at the resort splashing around.  My husband decided to check out the fitness center, which he approves of.  You can exercise and enjoy the view of Tucson below.  The fitness center is large and has almost every piece of equipment imaginable.

As we were leaving I found this note my son had written, all of his own accord.  It was pretty cute.

Loews just announced the Wonderful Place To Wander promotion where you can get 20% off your stay.  You can find Loews on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and of course additional information is available on their site.

We were able to stay at the Loews Ventana Canyon at no cost in exchange for our review.  All the thoughts are my mine.
